Subject: Poser 6 file into Carrara 4?

Dave ( ) posted Wed, 20 April 2005 at 9:54 AM · edited Mon, 02 December 2024 at 2:50 PM

Has anyone managed to successfully import a multi-figure poser 6 file into Carrara 4? Everytime I try whatever figure is last in the scene, the other characters in the scene get the same texture applied. What I'm trying to say is I have Figure A and Figure B in the scene. When I import into the scene, Figure A suddenly has the same textures as Figure B. I could go back and edit it by hand, but I'd rather not have to do it to start with. David

I think it would help if you re-name the shader to 'Hoof', before importing a second figure, which reader might also be named 'Figure 1'. By the way, any other word than 'Figure 1' will resolve the issue, probably, but I am working on my personal branding ;-)

But the figures are in the same P6 file, so that wouldn't resolve my problem.

I thought I remembered reading that the SDK for P6 hadn't been released yet meaning Eovia hasn't had the chance to update the Transposer plug to work with V6 yet.

Nope they haven't released it yet. Was just checking to see if somebody may have come up with a workaround until Eovia can update Transposer. David

I'm on the cusp of buying Transposer myself. Would the problem be solved by simply importing the figures into Carrara one at a time?

That should do it actually and it was what I was going to suggest: divide the scene up and save it as several scenes each with one figure. I suppose this would be tedious with more than 4 or so figures though but it should work. I will test it later.
