Subject: Help needed with Credo Interactive (Lifeforms)

I have been trying to get in contact with Credo in order to get the LifeForms plug-ins that were updated for the Poser Updates.I checked the website, but get mostly 404's.I also sent an E-Mail to tech support, but so far, no answer. Anybody know what is going on with them?

They're a bit overloaded it seems. I spoke with them about two weeks ago, trying to get help with some troubles I'm having making Life Forms Studio 3.9 work with the Michael and Victoria models. I just called a few minutes ago and was told to expect a call tomorrow...we'll see! ;-) Credo's going through a directional business change... they're re-working their web site and are going to be pushing their 'solutions' more. Looks to me like they are jumping on the 'web avatar' animation bandwagon, as evidenced by the attached link. Take a look at the Animal Farm and compare to the effort put into the Life Forms/PowerMoves section of the site and you'll get your answer. I hope this doesn't mean Life Forms customers like us will get blown off. If you don't already have their number, you can reach their office (in Vancouver, BC) at 604-291-6717.

Well, they finally got the site up again. I was looking for the updated plug ins for updated versions of Poser 4.When I purchased LifeForms 3.5 the latest Poser update came out. It seems as if the reimported BVH files distort the figure.I went back and forth with E-Mails and phone calls until the problem was finally straightened out. They E-mailed me the updated plugins and they worked like a charm.I assumed that they would post the updated plug-ins on their site, but I see that the old ones are STILL there. Now they tell me that they no longer support 3.5, and if I want to shell out another $90, life forms should work with the updated versions of Poser.I myself kinda feel that after forking out over $300 for the software it should still be supported instead of being made obsolete.Heck, every software developer keeps their fixes posted.Buyer Beware.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, DD#3... They sent me several LFAs, hoping to get something that would work with a character created with Zygote's Michael, but unfortunately none of them worked. They seem to be giving up on helping me with it, so I'll either have to solve it on my own, or just not use their software now that I spent $300 on it. =( FWIW, import and export of BVH files with Life Forms Studio 3.9 seems to work fine. When I re-map mocaps from a 3rd party library they import fairly well into Poser 4.0.3.127. For keyframing animations, though, looks like I'm stuck in Poser.

Well, I feel they should either work on a fix or stop advertising how LifeForms works with Poser.About all I am asking for are the updated plugins that should be up there to begin with. Not help with some quirky problem. This is a problem I've had since day one, but I thought they would at least keep the updated plugins available.Almost all the software developers keep updates to previous versions available.I have heard similar complaints about support with MetaCreations during it's final days before they completely dumped their product line.I have'nt heard back from them yet, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Well, thanks to everyone at Credo! They came through with the updated plug-ins and they work like a charm.NOW I might think about upgrading in the future.Great APP!

That's great, DD! I'm glad they came through for you. I've decided to try a roundabout way of getting the Michael figure to work in Life Forms -- making a TrueSpace skeleton/figure from a Poser export, then importing that with the TrueSpace eXtension from Credo to preserve the skeletal heirarchy. Even if it works, it seems like a heck of a lot of hoop jumping for a product that touts compatability with Poser. . . :
