THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: past posting useless

Sorry guys but about 14 threads back I tried to post an image for comments/advice. It got swallowed up by tangent subjects and only one comment about image. Would anyone out there look at thread and lend "constructive" advice about the image?

The snow is fantastic and the trees look great but I'd like them better if they were a dark green instead of black. I'd also try something different to make the depression in the snow under the front tree. Maybe a smoothed lattice neg booleaned? the background mountain is awesome in my opinion. HTH Ang

Thank u Ang. I'll play with colors. The tree wells I created where actually done by minute manipulation of terrain in terrain editor. I agree the front one looks slack. I'll try you way. I may opt to keep tree color to maintain starkness of image, but I'll see how green looks.

I agree with Ang about the "holes" in the snow that the trees are sitting in, they look far too regular. How about trying a negative boolean stone? Um... that's if you CAN make a stone into a negative... (suddenly unsure) can't remember if I've done that or not. Also there's something about the actual texture of the snow that bothered me... I THINK it was the bumpiness that was too regular, or else just not smooth enough in the areas where it's untouched. (can't recall where image was, so this is from memory) I did like the fir trees, they looked pretty good to me. Hope that helps.
