... than it took to get into the forums. It's been like this for a few days now, what's going on? Anyone else having trouble? Jack

Yes, it took me a few minutes for the page to load in the main Poser forum. Lately it all seems to take longer to go from one forum to another.

Yep...there is another thread below, discussing this same thing.

I believe Tim is looking into this. I will point him to this thread in any case. Thanks Stacey

Sorry for the double post...but gawd....this here site be dang slow! lol Using the search function in the galleries is a nightmare, literally.

What database backend does this site run on? ASP/sql? PHP/mysql? Something else? If it's ASP, there's your answer to the slowness, lol. I keep hearing asp is slow on high volume sites (go Microsoft! not...)

Maybe the site needs an upgrade or something, like bandwidth, new computers, or a new host or something. Maybe the web site itself, the forum code used on the site looks kinda out-dated too, how about upgrading to something like UBB, or Invision Power Board, or the free and excellent PHPBB? Because I've always experienced general site slowness, but lately it is horrible.

Look, I'm not complaining, I know the site is free and stuff, I'm just sharing info in hopes that it could be of some use to help solve this problem, and yes it is a problem, because the slowness might deter visitors to the site from becoming new regular visitors, and might even make some people leave for greener pastures.

Yep, it's very slow and not fun to browse the forums at the moment. "At least during childbirth they give you drugs to alleviate the pain..." Real woman don't need painkillers :P

My missus didn't take anything... we were watching 'Terminator 2' on tv at home. The film finished, she had one contraction and by the time the credits had finished rolling we had a daughter. Jack

"Look, I'm not complaining, I know the site is free and stuff.." As a merchant paying 50% commission on sales, I'm complaining alright! Moving around these forums has become a real drudge. m.

My wife didn't use drugs either. I honestly think she forgot because she was so focused. Looking back it seems like such a waste of a trip to the hospital. I've heard real good things about demarol. ;-) ----- Actually I may have stunned my wife into forgetting about drugs. As labor progressed and contractions got closer, the nurse rolled a little stool in the room for the doctor to sit on and play "catch." I pointed to it and told my wife we ought to see if we could cut a little bit of the material off of it and put it in the baby book. I told her we could call it "The Doctors' Stool Sample." I think I hurt her with that one. For our non-Americans members: when you give a doctor a sample of your feces for medical tests, that's called a "stool sample." I don't know why. Regardless, that was a cruel time to be making puns. And that was a particularly atrocious pun. ;-)
