I have been playing with some ideas I have for some env. that have water and land. I love what Vue can do with water but I cant seem to figure out the shore line. It is very rough. Is there a way to create a wave or water foam just at the shore line??? I have attached a quick sample scene to give a better understanding. Thanks for any help. Cheers, Dave

with Vue infinite you can make amaterial that creates shorelines otherwise, good ways to do it are to make a TERRAIN! How to do it for precision render your scene from the TOP camera looking directly down. ZOom into the area where oyur shore will be. You don't need whole image jsut where the shore must be. Just a render with normal lights etc, fast, you want fine edge detialign don't need colour etc. save picture. open picture in paint package. what you want ot do is make a GREY scale image, black to white, of where your shoreline will be. so, make a selection to enclose your SHORE, then paint in it, , blur/paint to get nice gradiant, waves if want..apply this grey scalee image to a terrian, added to your scene with suitable material. basiclaly you want a terrain that's only a thin rim around your shore/rocks ;)

(bah pardon typos, not very well) idea is to paint where it should be, (and any detials if wish), so you have a thin rim, then CLIP the terrain so it removes most of it: imagine slicing a tomatoe into thin parts across the middle. then place the rim on top of/in the water, change to a suitable material and voila', shoreline :) note: you may need to make this shoreline terrian have a high detial (1024x1024 or the like) to make it precise. It varies on the material, setting etc
