I am going to make a vest in Cinema 4D. What settings do I need to check/uncheck to import the vest into Poser from Cinema 4D?

Flip normals checked.
Everything else unchecked.

Use C4D's Import/Export options for Wavefront to set a scaling factor, or use ObjAction Scaler (in FreeStuff).
A factor of 100 or 1000 is typical.

Any particular reason to flip the normals? If the
normals were corrct in the first place, whouldn't this
just mess them up?

" Any particular reason to flip the normals?"

Depends on whether they've set correctly in C4D.
I usually find it's easier to just do when importing into Poser.
Sometimes this causes a small number of faces to be wrong, but this is best fixed inside C4D with it's "Align Normals" or "Reverse Normals" rather than using Poser's "Make polygon normals consistent" or the Group editor, YMMV.
