Subject: Crazy Bump Map B.S.

Can someone tell me why my bump map looks like this? This is the default setting for the bump map in the MAT file. I've had the same problem with other figures. I'm using Poser 4. Mike

Try reducing the bump value. Just because it is the default setting doesn't mean it is too high for what you want to do.

It could be that the bump map file name ends in .jpg and not in .bum. In that case you have to convert it to a .bum file in Poser. Load the jpg and let Poser convert it. Maybe you'll have to restart Poser and load the files manually to make it work. Later versions of Poser use grayscale jpg's for bump maps and maybe your MAT file is made for those.

That is what is going on ... The PP and above MAT files make a weird sooty thing when they are loaded in and not converted.
