I found out a way to squeeze out a few extra Clock cycles for doing renders with Poser. Method 1) Launch Taskmanager with Poser already running; Right-Click Poser.exe and set the priority to high. Method 2) Create a batch file with the following: start /high Poser.exe %1 Place the batch in the same directory as Poser. Also in the Control Panel -> System -> Performance make sure to select the performance boost for the foreground application. Although these tricks will speed up performance they still do not beat a faster processor. I hope this helps. Sam

Sam: So do you have any idea how much it helps? Have you done any render-time tests? I'm just curious to know the net gain. Take care, Tim

It's NT/2K, as far as I can tell.

The start command with the /high option is WinNT, but I believe the taskmanager allows setting High Priority in Win98. Sam

I should have ran tests before posting but here are the results for my system; I do not have access to a Win98 machine to test. With /high the renders took 4.75 min., without 5.75 min for a speed-up of 21% Actual results will vary based on loading of the system. I hope this helps.
