Hey Mazak -- it works for me in P6 SR1. To check I first copied the python script to the 6 runtime (since python scripts can only be run from the main runtime, then I tested it out by making changes to the default P6 lights to check all the functions: color, light type, etc. I do not, however, think that it can handle the new Point light.

Are you using the newer version of Light Panel? (NewLightPanel.py, File date 7/04) This version works for me anyway....My python page

Point light! Thanks. I'll check and add that. Actually, I think the 'Local' setting may be the same thing. In P4 and 5, 'Local' was only available through Python.

Okay, verified. Local and Point have the same
underlying code, and have the same effect.
I didn't realize that before; the explanation
of Local in the Python docs didn't sound like
the same thing as the "new" Point light.
So the Local setting on LightPanel is Point. I'll just change the word.

Would there be any purpose in including the IBL choice along with Spot, Inf, Point? Or is IBL such a complex thing that it wouldn't be part of a 'mass choice' that this script is meant for?

considers While IBL is complex in use -- primarily becuase of using additional shader properties and such for specific effects -- I have to say that I think adding it in would be of greater overall value. I don't think it's an overly complicated aspect to add in in and of itself. However, there may be use for additional scripts that could build on this later.

Mazak: Thanks for specific image. Looks like the latest version. I just tried the same move with 3 lights, and seems to work OK. So I don't know what's wrong on your end..... Do other scripts work? Ynsaen: Okay, I'll add the choice.

All my scripts I use work ok. I have all scripts in RuntimePythonposerScripts installed. Mazak
If I change to any shadow type its crashes the light. Changes from infinite to spotlight that works for example. My Poser version is 6.0.1.75 I use Poser with WinXP German. Mazak
Hmm. I wonder if there's a translation problem. This version of the LightPanel writes an external file, so that it can be compatible with all Poser versions. Let me try a new approach, using some new Python actions that will only work in 5 and 6. This should avoid language problems, if they exist. See you tomorrow..........

I've put this in a temp zip, pending test by Mazak and others. No readme in the zip. Since the original version worked OK on my system, I can't tell if this is any better! It also includes the IBL choice as wanted by Elle.My python page

Thank you ockham :) All tests I did, work well with the 'Apply to Selected' button. But the 'Apply to all' function looks deactivated!? Mazak

WOW Ockham is magic! :D It works fine now. I didn't find a problem atm. Thank you very much that you fixed the most useful tool in my little Poserworld :) Mazak
Good! I wish I knew what the problem was, but at least it's fixed. Just out of curiosity, could you generate a LT2 file in the normal way (hit the + key in Lights library) and post it here, or send it to me? I'd like to see what's different about the German version.

I have no German version of Poser, I have the English Poser6 version on German OS WinXP. Main difference between the German OS and English OS is we use "comma , " instead of "point . " Mazak

ok here a light file, but I didn't think it help much :/ MazakThanks for posting. Everything in that file is the same as the English version. Maybe the internal string operation of Python uses different punctuation standards in a German Windows system.... so that my file-reading methods were comparing strings differently. Oh well. It's solved now.

Ockham's LightPanel didn't work with Poser 6 SR1 anymore. Can another P6SR1 user copy that? Mazak
