Subject: How do you get hair to conform to a different character?

renderq ( ) posted Fri, 07 October 2005 at 5:15 PM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 9:15 PM

Is it possible to get hair designed for one character to conform, if not parent to a another character? Example: Hair designed for Jessi to work with Stephanie Petite. Many thanks in Advance rq

I use the freebie utilities from www.netherworks-studios.com . They are magnet sets and center-set poses that let you generate a hair fitting morph in the new hair that is generated. - Yolanda

Hope it works. I've been meaning to ask this question myself for awhile.

yes, netherwork's magnets do work well when your translating hair from one figure to another.

If you don't want to get that magnet set it is possible to fit hair to others by using the XYZ parameter dials for placement and the XYZ scaling dials to fit. Once you have the fit right then just parent it to the "head" of the character like you would parent a prop. Works great for most but not for all and it's quicker than it sounds! thefixer, poser coord.

Yeah, but what about figure hair as compared with prop hair?

You don't "have" to conform a figure, you can still parent it instead so it's not an issue! thefixer, poser coord.

Wardrobe Wizard makes a reasonable stab at doing this (probably not good enough for close-ups, but...)
