There were changes in 10.4 that for some installations causes system file dialogs to open behind the Poser window. A fix will be coming in SR2 for Poser 6, see the link.In the meantime, you should be able to hit your "hide window" yellow button on the upper left side of the window to temporarily hide the Poser interface and then get to the dialog boxes that were underneath the window. When you've done whatever you were doing then unhide the Poser window.

We have discovered after quite a bit of experimentation that the DivX 5.2.1 QuickTime component seems to be the culprit here. You should be able to resolve the problem by moving the DivX 5.component file from within the root Library:QuickTime folder to any other location (the Desktop, your home Documents folder, etc.) and re-launching Poser. DivX does specify that the 5.2.1 codec is not fully Tiger-compatible, but that information is not presented on the DivX download page itself. Earlier versions of this codec have not caused this problem in-house but we advise caution should you use them. Our SR2 updater should resolve the problem without requiring you to move the DivX component manually, but until it is released this workaround should serve. Regards, e frontier Tech Support
Yikes! That must have been a pain in the backside to figure out. Of course, this probably means that you can't use that codec while using Poser. On the other hand, maybe you could set up an actionscript (using the "Automator" function in Tiger) to remove the componant file and open Poser. And then create another one to close Poser and replace the componanat file.

Hi, After upgrading to tghe latest version of OS 10.4 and the security upgrades neither Poser 5 nor Poser 6 will run on my 667 MHz G4 PowerBook. They open and work fine on manipulating figures; however, they can't save, export etc -- once a comand such as save is made the Poser program stops wotking and all the menu sub-choices are dimmed. Also the Apple Force Quit utility doesn't show Poser as not responding. I reinstalled Poser 5 with no change. They run fine on my G5 PowerMac with the same OS version. Any suggestions? Cheers, John p.s. this is also posted in the Mac forum
