Hello all... I feel a tad silly asking this, but here goes: I recently downloaded a lip and wing brush set [And wow - the wings! They're great and free too! I've included a link for those that wish to check them out.] Anyway, I have never used brushes like these for post working a Poser image. My question is how do I use these brushes so that the wings have more than one color tone in them? They look flat to me with just one color. For instance, there's a set of dragonfly wings and I'd like to make them look iridescent like real wings. Or the butterfly wings - how do I get separate colors in them? Any suggestions? Thanks so much guys...Best regards...

Stamp them down in one colour then use a layer style to add a gradient to them. You can also add inner glow, inner shadow, pattern overlays and so forth in layer styles.

Site Admin Online Now!

With any brushes, if you paint it onto a new document with a transparent background, you can then use the various features to color it the way you want, and add any effects, etc until you get something that looks the way you want, and save it as a psd layer, then copy and paste the layer onto your image and transform and edit it just like an ordinary psd layer.

also make copy of the layers, on each layer in photoshop - make one for example hard light - duplicate that then make that layer soft light etc... its useful to do this to make your characters skin more livelier as well.. i use it on my renders all the time for postwork which is where i do most of my work....
