I didn't post the texture for the tire, but texture for the tread is only portion of the entire tread, and the map is created to rotate that portion around the tire, right? So, could someone please explain to me how this type of texture map can be created using uvmapper?

Try changing the typ of UV map that you exported - you can choose cylincrical, box, etc.

You mean you want to repeat a small section of the tread around the circumference of the tyre? I know how to do that equally in both U and V, but repeating in one direction only can't be done directly in UVMapper. I think. If you use Poser 5 or 6, you can set U and V tiling in the material room.

Off the top of my head you can do what you want in UV mapper, though it may be fiddly. I hope I explain this well because it's making my head hurt. What you need to do it map the whole tread, preferable in a long strip, so that there is each section of tread is the same sixe and shape with the same distortions etc. You can then move each section so that they overlay each other in the UVMap. Then when you apply the UVmap to the model it will repeat the pattern around the tread. I'd probably start my making a cylindrical map with cap, to seperate the tread from the tyre walls (not sure which orientation, whichever is closest to your current map. Hope that makes sense. John

Thaks John, yeah that makes sense. Since the entire tire is one group, how would I go about selecting section of the tread once the map's properly laid out?
