man, that's awesome. don't you think the feet are a bit tiny though? like the actual footprint? and it will be interesting to see how you model the face, that'll perfect its 'character' like nothing else :)

I have to try my hand at terrain editing like this. Very inspiring.

I never intended to make art.

pidjy ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 8:43 AM

Drac the feet are not made yet!!! LOL! concernig the cockpit "the face" I thing of someting very simple, but with a kind of "shark mouth" painted on it, just like on some old fight planes, you see what I meen ;-p

marcfx ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 10:00 AM

This IS coming along awesomely (if thats a word!!) My first comment was meant to be about the feet as Drac mentioned but you have told us of your plans for that, so i wont write about it!! LOL. You have a certain knack for this 'terrain modeling' and its one i would love to know how to do. Just fantastic things are being made by you. Keep up the great modeling pj ;)

Love to know your workflow pidjy. Do you start with a scematic or drawing. You seem to be building this as an engineer would.

marcfx ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 12:12 PM

Looks like one of those heads that can move up to the top when searching over walls and things! Marc (Still TUTTING!! TUT TUT TUT TUT TUT LOL)

pidjy ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 1:22 PM

lol@marc I would like to make a tut but this will be a photoshop tut, but unfortunatly, I only got a french version of it, and I don't know the US menus etc... quiet difficult to translate screenshots... But all you should know is to draw squares and circles in shade of grey and import your image in the terrain editor, that's what I do, and that's why I've only spend 3 hours on this model.

ellocolobo ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 3:11 PM

I've always wondered...Does it take a key to start those things?..:}

marcfx ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2006 at 3:38 PM

Your be surprised how pictures with arrows explain a thousand words in any language..... ;) Marc ( Thinking pj doesnt want to tell us about his extraordinary skills in making these awesome models!! ROFLMAO!!! )

This is incredible! This thing could also fly if you attached a balloon to the top and used the arms as burners to heat the air in the balloon. (Sorry - I've been a bit befuddled lately...) Great model!

Nice work Pdjy, this is fantastic modelling and the textures are great too - they give good representation of scale
