Subject: Carrara / Poser question

Is it possible to apply Poser poses or facial expressions to it a Poser figure after it's been imported into Carrara?

Yes, see image. (You'll have to select the Body actor of the figure first, to get the dialog).

Import pose will import all kind of poses (regular, hand, face). If you happen to use a PC, you may want to try my Poser Library Browser. The latest betas can copy files to predefined folders so you don't have to browse with Carrara itself (just open from the folder the file you double clicked was copied to :-))

Thanks, Dizzi! Will I have to import the Poser figure using Carrara's Import feature or with TransPoser? Does it make a difference?

This works only with the native importer. Carrara doesn't get any bone information when importing via Transposer, so it can't apply poses to the figure (as it doesn't even know body parts).

I had trouble importing very large pose files that I'd generated using Mimic, don't know if anyone else has seen this? (using latest .2 patch)

Let me check.

No need to think outside the box....
