Attached Link: Voice gender changing software/hardware??

Looking for way to change voice from male to female. Either software, hardware or both. I have tried some of the stuff available on the net like av voice changer, and blaze but they suck. All they do is make the voice sound like alvin the chipmunk. Any ideas..

Voice modulation for gender is difficult. I can see how software would have trouble converting. Stereotypically Women speek more form the throat allowing them to speak longer along the same breath. Men sterotypically speak more fom the diaphram or gut and thus use shorter sentences between need for breaths Octaves are trickky too. One way to make any voice speak in naturally higher octave is to tilt your chin upwards and smile while talking To lower the octave naturally, just lower your chin to your chest and talk while frowning. Just something to try when you or anyone else finds the software they want. That way you might bet a better result with less modulation.

There's more to it than pitch. In fact, pitch isn't what our ears use to determine the difference. For a convincing non-technical demonstration, listen to male and female coughs, sneezes, and whispers. None of those involve pitch, but you can distinguish gender with 90% accuracy on those sounds. Technically, what makes the difference is the overall shape of the throat and mouth, which emphasizes and damps different groups of frequencies [formants] in the original vocal vibration.

And for the Mac users check out GarageBand '06 it has some excellent voice changing effects.

Somebody once pointed out software called AV Voice Changer. I never heard of it before. Anyone else ever here of it?

Here is the link where you can find it: http://www.audio4fun.com/
You can download a tryout version. It's not perfect, but it gives your voice a kindof female sound( if your male) or male sound if your female.

I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record on this... You spend hundreds of hours getting an animation right then you throw some computer-altered recording of yourself through a cheap mic at it?
