As many of you know i'm holding a contest as mentioned in this link here. the prize for this little bit of fun is to be my scimitar prop which i havn't given out to anyone. Also as posted before i looked at the prop and found that it was in **oh my god** bad shape.... Well not any more! Attached is an image of the scimitar remapped, textured, and bumpmammed. as well as the all new scabbard to go with it. The package has been built an tested and in cludes the following: Right and left hand scimitar prop for posette Right and left hand scimitar prop for V3 Right and left side scabbard - Morph to make belt strap longer - Morph to bend belt strap in towards the figure Texturemap for scimitar and right and left hand scabbards Bum files for right and left scabbard based off the texturemaps. It's a rather nice set. I'm rather happy with it and NOW i'm convinced it'll make a nice little prize to give out for my contest. As the previous post says this is not a merchant item, nor a free stuff item. The only way to get your hands on this one is to be one of the 3 winners in the contest hosed by Mordikar's Forge! (part of the reason behind this message wasn't just to show off the goodies but was also to test out the forums.. i've nopticed a little bug that causes an immage to be in EVERYONEs post in firefox, not sure if it happens in IE as well but i want to make sure theres not gonna be a prob with judging the contest and knowing what image is posted by whom.)

ok looks like it's only bugging out on images in the old posts so maybe it won't be an issue for the contest :)

Its not been addressed and it most definately happens in IE. Ive just checked one of the posts I made previously (after having to retype the URL of course, all 3 years of my ebots now point to null addys) where it was all about the images of a WIP, and every image is compressed, resized, looks like shit, and is repeated endlessly in all sequential posts in the thread that are NOT supposed to have pictures. Mordikar, I think we need to move this contest to another Poser site with a forum that displays images and image containing threads properly. I read in a thread the other day someone claiming 200,000 people at this site, to which an admin posted to correct that it was closer to 400,000 active accounts. That would mean the admins of this site let some kid spend 150 hours coding a forum that they then dumped on 400,000 people with 0 hours of beta testing. I really dont want to deal with judging images in this mess. What do you think of RDNA?

No i posted it here i'll host the contest here. Besides the issue only occurs on the past posts it's not happening on new threads. While the initial image is a bit compressed looking if you click on it you get a new window with the full image in it. So all in all this will probably suffice for this contest. though i'll likely not host another in the forums here untill all the "quirks" are worked out of the new forums.

Contest was your baby so its location is your call. I dont bail on pals so ill be here for the duration to do my part of the judging. Contest will still be fun, I just wish the new forums (IMO) didnt suck groin. Can you imagine how nice it would have been to have one page for the entries, be able to see them all full size, ablbeit 200KB max res, on one page to scoll along and compare, with gallery links to the full res versions? Im listening to Jethro Tull's "Living in the Past" and Im friggin weeping dude. I cant even recognize what was my favorite spot on the net anymore. Anyhow, my beta copy of the scimitar has given me an inspiration for a render so that should keep me from griping about the forums for a short while. Ill give you first preview!

I agree it would have been nicer to run the contest on the old forums .. but what can you do? I've given up on complaining about the conditions of the new forums. It has been made clear repeatedly that the staff has no concerns whatsoever about the user base and will not listen to user input. So, if complaining about it will accomplish nothing, why waste the effort that could be channeled more positively. I have a couple of little projects stirring. One is my contest. Another is looking at building a web page for the site SVDL gave me to host my freebies. I have a larger project looming in the background, but i don't have the motivation for it yet and it looks like it's likely to be a rather major ordeal :)
