I don't often save as TIF, I save as PNG, which gives you the blank alpha channel anyhow.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
I render out as tiff. I started that back with Poser4. I rarely use 'render as black', I simply change the background color in the studio to black and render. I've had no problems with bringing these tiffs from P6 into Paintshop and using the alpha chanel to delete the black background. Try changing the color of your studio's background to black rather than using the 'render as black' option and you might loose your problem.
I did not know that ping format has an alpha channel. The only other format that I found with alpha channel is Poser besides tiff was targa.

If you are using Photoshop you can also save as .PSD and use the Load Selection>alpha 1, check Invert option there as well.

Poser 6 is so full of mysteries... I really wish it was a bit more like the old poser... in Poser 4 if you rendered out a tiff using the "against black" option it created an alpha matte and you could use to lay the pic over any number of other backgrounds later... now in Poser 6 a render using the "against black" gets you just that... black. What can you do to create an alpha matte in the rendered tiffs??? really desperate to know. Thanks in advance. FRED
