Subject: Photography of an underage

Fotografo_arg ( ) posted Wed, 16 August 2006 at 12:02 PM · edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 3:54 PM

I was contacted by a woman who wants me to photograph her underagedaughter. What should I need to do to be legally safe? I assume that the mother must come with her and here are my questions: is it mandatory that I ask for their IDs to prove they are mother and daughter? should I make the mother sign a document consenting that I will photograph her daughter?

I have a couple of years living in the US and what scares me most is the possibility of being sued for not taking care of all the details. :tongue1:

Unless it's a nude shoot I don't think it's going to be a problem. Just a model form with added caretaker sig or something (clearly stating the parent/caretaker gives permission).

Well, I know that.... You must to firm a document between the model and you when she have - 18 years, and you need to know the law for that.... And yes, you need to see that with the mother of her because is her (the mother /father) nmust to firm this contrat... You cannot to take photo of her without this document..

Now, if she have +18, you can to say at this mother is not a obligation, but, if i can to give you my opinion, make a contrat between her and you and always when you want to take photo with a model male or woman...

You can to reading my next thread : http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2654097.. In this one, you can to see the diferently contrat between her and you... I have a chance to work in a studio and I have a very good lawyer friend to say me the correctly pass to make for that...

The law for that is very strict and if you don't make the correctly way you can have a lot of problem. Beleive me, I know...

As far as I know you need copies of their ID's for proof of who they are and you need BOTH parents signatures...
