Subject: Render Nodes and Extensions

Is it required to have any third party Carrara plug-ins installed on the Computer that you are using for a Render Node, or does the main computer wiht Carrara Pro application take care of that. I am thinking of shader extensions like: Enhance C

Hi,

They need to be installed on the render node. Also keep an eye out, some will pop serial number dialogs up the first time you render something on the node. That may stall your render node.

Just to clarify, you won't need to purchase the extention for each node. Simply duplicate, install it on the node and you're good to go.

Great! How about Shaders created from those extensions? Does it just pull the shader data from the main computer? I do not really see a way of installing the shaders if it was necessary. Thanks again for your help. =-) CV

As long as the extension is installed on all nodes, the shaders on the source machine will render correctly during a network render.
