hey thanks for seeing if you could help 1st off

Okay i need advise on a few subjects that kinda fall under the same umbrella.

My PC it a little old . Im limited on Hard drive space and only have 512 ram , with that said . here my issues

A.    Is about rendering video output
1.Video codec & audio codec . what is the best and most optimal in 3d performance  and  picture quality with

the option to edit?

Are some faster than other when render out a video?
Or  is that just depend on render settings or does  the Video codec & audio codec setting and compression? play
a major roll in render time?

B.     okay it there some sort of rule of thumb in  Video export resolutions settings cus im not getting the same

result
as i do when render out an image sequence. With  the same settings, video seem to lack quality and RES.
In video export Resolution, should it be the same size as the DoC window is  or is there a rule of thumb on how to

calculate the best settings and size ?    Or  does the camera act different when exporting video. cus you know

how can tweak camera attributes to make things more dementional  and give it depth. Camera acts the same as

if it was rendering a still shot right?

C.     Video Editing Tips and tricks and good habits?

  1. Well i have been rendering out my vids uncommpressed. Where a 60 second clips can get as big as  1 gig with

sound and shadows enabled and resolution 490X 500+ 2 figs..and with the bucket size cut in half to 32. And can

take 5 to 9 hours to render if im lucky.  I been have failed my last 3 or 4 times  and tell you the truth it has me

starting to consider  new software. But i  must say i love poser and content.

K so i been  learning a few video and audio software  to take some of the burden off poser like sound i been

useing Blaze Media pro simple edit and convertion ware it has all the same codec that poser uses.

Should i do all my video editing ,compression, resizeing and what not before adding my secondary audio to the

project or does that not matter?

when choosing an export setting like codec and compression  , when editing in another program are you locked

into useing  just those one's .  cus when i try to use differnt codecs i get a bogus outcome. when editing?

thanks for you time folks

If You could when awnsering Please put a  A. B. or C. next to  your awnser  so i know what issue you are refering too

 for me thanks

B. (partial response) Still images that are uncompressed are the highest quality renders you can have. If you render a video with any form of compression you will lose quality. Some codec degrade the image worse than others and part of the problem is the subject matter - different compression algorithms used by the codecs treat the material differently producing different results. C: Rendering Tip Render to a still image sequence instead of to video. That way it's easier to break the render in to pieces if you need to stop the render or if your machine crashes and you can just pick up where you left off. When the render is complete, then you can convert the stills to video. Also this will give you source material that is pure and you can then test various compression settings and Codecs to see which works best for your needs. You are better off if you keep things uncompressed until the last possible moment (for example right before you upload the movie to the web or burn it to DVD). If you're editing together different clips in video editing software it doesn't matter when you add the audio. I usually render and edit things at settings for full screen TV/DVD. I don't resize anything until it's fully edited with the audio add.

Before they made me they broke the mold!
