Our mission is to provide an open community and unique environment where anyone interested in learning more about Adobe Photoshop can share their experience and knowledge, post their work for review and critique by their peers, and learn new techniques while developing the skills that allow each individual to realize their own unique artistic vision. You create a new layer, make your box, fill it with a color, change the Fill of the layer to 0%, and apply the stroke with the Layer Styles command at the bottom of the Layers Palette - this way you can cut some off, add some more, etc., and the "line" will follow whatever you do to it - you don't have to do it over and over again if you want to change it later.
Good luck, hope that helps-

Now, I have seen a tutorial where you take a color, add noise to it and then do another technique to it that makes it "spray" out. You can use that tech for making iris textures, but I'm beating my head against the table right now as I can't find the tut and I've gone over my Photoshop and can't find any filter that will do that....it's driving me crazy :)

HI there. I tried doing a search for this but the Search apparently works on all the forums, so I got a lot of junk for my efforts so I decided to post directly with my newbie question.
I am trying to make a solid line in Photoshop. And for the life of me I can't figure it out. You know where you can drag like a marquee over to copy something, isn't there a way that will make that line solid? I've discovered the line tool, like it will make a straight line from point A to B but it can be a little difficult to make a box out of it and make it look perfectly square.
