Subject: Copying Blocks of Keyframes?

Hi, I'm still new to Poser 6 so I'm having a few teething problems - excellent program though. I'd like to know how to copy blocks of keyframes eg. say, frames 1 to 10 across all parameters (head to toe of a character). What I'm doing now is dragging a square around all the keyframes, within a group of frames, to select them, hitting Edit > Copy, then I move to the frame I want to drop them in at and hit Edit > Paste. The weird thing is sometimes this works and other times it doesn't. When it doesn't work, it will usually just paste one frame at the top. I've also tried the Option & drag method with a block of keyframes and this 'sometimes works, sometimes doesn't' too. Also, sometimes I'll try to copy all the parameter keyframes in one frame (eg. head to toe of a character) but only some of them will faithfully copy. An example is copying all of the keyframes for a character but only the arm, chest and head keyframes pasting. The rest are kind of a mix between the frame that was origally there and the the new keyframes. It's racking my brain as to why this is happening? Is there a simple way to copy blocks of keyframes (faithfully) to a new position? Thanks in advance, ALEX KUZELICKI hybrid@bigpond.net.au

I've always had the same bugginess when trying to copy keys in P5.  Haven't tried much with P6 yet.  Anyway, a workaround for some situations is to save animated poses and apply them where you would otherwise paste your copied keys.  I'd like to know if there's a better workaround as well.

Thanks kindly for the reply. How do I save an animated pose? A quick explanation would be great. Also, I've discovered another workaround for copying blocks of keyframes: use the Retime Animation tool. Instead of using it to retime animation though, I just keep the same timing and slot it in where needed. So far, this seems to be the most reliable way for me but I'm keen to try out the Animated Pose method. Much appreciated, ALEX

" How do I save an animated pose?"

Just click on the 'plus sign' at the bottom of the Pose library and go through the dialogues.  You can choose animated poses over a defined frame range, as well as partial poses which can be very handy as well.
