How do you post an image in a message? Do I have to have it uploaded someplace like imageshack or something?

yeah, I know, stacey. it makes it hard to fix, if none of yer browsers can duplicate this. but it just happened to me again (explorer). it's a minor thing, but due to the way the page list is written, I can't click on what I know is the actual last page. I can only click on the link saying "last", which then goes to a blank page. as new messages are added to this thread, "last" will eventually work on this thread for me, so I ain't worried. I haven't yet checked to see which browsers will display "last" correctly.

Stacey,

It just did it to me again as well.

When I have more time, I'll post images of what I see for you, so you can see what I'm talking about..

k:)

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sun, 07 January 2007 at 3:40 PM

yeah, it does it in netscape as well. another bug I noticed in poser forum: there's a thread with 3 pages, and the last two times I clicked on page three, it was blank. but then I clicked on page two, which displayed o.k., and which also had a link to page 3. clicking on that "page 3" link actually displayed page 3. so it's weird, but reproducible.

ElviratheCat ( ) posted Sun, 07 January 2007 at 7:58 PM

And in Firefox as well.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sun, 07 January 2007 at 8:09 PM

"last" also goes to a blank page in safari 2.x, and probly in safari 1.x as well.

Jumpstartme2 ( ) posted Sun, 07 January 2007 at 8:53 PM

Hmmm hitting last takes me right to this page and Im using FF 2.0, but I have in the past seen what ya'll are talking about

CaptainJack1 ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 11:26 AM

In the hopes that this might be helpful in diagnosing this problem:

My initial guess is that there is a rounding problem somewhere, possibly related to the number of actual messages in the thread (which includes the initial message) and the number of "posts" reported (which does not include the initial message, only the replies). Or, possibly, there are two values stored somewhere that control the number of messages per page, and they are out of sync with each other.

nruddock ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 12:10 PM

Don't forget that you can set the number of posts per page, so I suspect that while it might have been fixed for the default value, the calculation still isn't right for other values.

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 12:13 PM

Well what I wonder then is why it doesn't happen to everyone that hits the last link? I come straight here everytime to the last page, last post???

nruddock ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 12:33 PM

Quote - Well what I wonder then is why it doesn't happen to everyone that hits the last link? I come straight here everytime to the last page, last post???

How many "posts per page" are you set at (the default was 20) ?

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 12:35 PM

aaah I think I am set to like 50 or something.. I'll have to check. That might be the difference huh?

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 12:40 PM

Oh okay that does change things. I changed my messages per threads to 20 and now the pages look different but clicking "last" still brought me to the last page here but of course I missed a bunch of pages so I don't really know what the deal is.. I'll talk to the programmers more about this

It's because several people deleted their own posts in the thread. The forum still paginates as if they were there for staff and members alike, but staff can see where the post was deleted, hence our threads have more pages.

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 3:36 PM

Yeah but does that explain "last" taking someone to a blank page? Isn't that what they are saying or am I misunderstanding the whole dealyo? heehee

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 4:05 PM

o.k., that explains it, karen. non-admins got to blank page, admins don't.

Cool, these forums have thread rot just like PHPBB

StaceyG ( ) posted Mon, 08 January 2007 at 5:44 PM

So that does explain it then? I didn't think that would matter, I thought clicking the "last" would take you to the last page regardless of the page number and whether you were a team member or not?

Doesn't make much sense to me, lol......

Well, the "last" page would be different for different users, since it's the total number of posts divided by the number of posts to show per page. If different users are getting a different value for total number of posts, especially if it's different from what they can actually see, that would cause the problem.

Well, probably spend less time reading pompous, pretentious, preternaturally prurient, palaverous, perspicacious, pervasive, pugnacious pontifications with peculiarly provocative potential, for one thing.

Don't believe it.

Everyone knows cats don't believe in God.

Sounds too much like "Dog"....in fact...it's dog spelled backwards....and everyone knows cats read backwards.

In fact...maybe that cat is swearing to "Dog".
