Subject: Face texture keeps changing!

Paul Francis ( ) posted Sun, 12 November 2006 at 4:33 AM · edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 3:09 AM

Hi folks.  Importing Poser 6 figures into Daz has worked just fine until now.  Now everytime I import a figure, the face texture is just bright white, fully specular texture, but all the other textures are fine.  Weird!  The face texture is imported, just not applied, so I have to do it manually.  Any ideas?

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

The texture is actually missing, it's not too much specular? have you used the FAce Room in Poser, or any of the skin enhancement scripts (they may make changes that put the texture information in the shader tree, where D|S can't read it).

I think you may be right; it happens if/when I apply skin enhancement textures.  The texture as applied by DS is is just a specular, white material (which is actually where I got the idea from for te picture I use as my avatar!), although the correct texture is loaded at the same time and so can be applied manually.  Thanks.

The white is your actual "object" color. The texture applies over it. If it does not you are probably missing the head texture .jpg in your content/texture/xxxx folder, with xxxx being your characters folder.Go to your texture folder and find that character's folder and be sure it is in there, if not it may have gotten seperated from the group and be lost outside the folder...find it and put it in the folder and it should work fine then.
