Subject: Smart Prop Question

I have made some jewelry for Vicky4 and am having a problem and I don't know why. Has anyone done this and does it work for you? I created a ring, bracelet and two earrings. Imported the .obj's, positioned them one by one, parented the ring to her hand, the bracelet to her forearm and the earrings to her head. Saved them as smart props. When I pose her the jewelry goes with her but doesn't stay in position and really deforms in shape. It works great on Vicky 3 but the same process doesn't seem to work on Vicky 4.
Any ideas?? TIA for any info.

Thank you,
Kath

Here's a thought for you to try....Magnetize then.  V4 is rapidly getting the reputation of being Magnet-Girl!  A not-so-super hero that distorts all you who comes in contact with her.  I haven't tried that particular problem, but It won't hurt to try it, I guess.

Does conforming them do anything good?  Do you have Philc's OBJ2CR2?  If so, you can turn them into a character and conform them.  THAT might work better?

Just some goofy ideas from Sleep-dep land.

I do have OBJ2CR2 but haven't tried that way. Thanks Joel.

One possibility: when the parent object is  "off scale" at the time of
parenting, the child can get deformed.  This definitely happens
with prop-on-prop parenting.

It doesn't seem to happen as often with prop-on-figure.  Still, you could
check the scale on Vicky's BODY and any parts above the prop in the hierarchy.
If the Body or other "superior" parts were not 100% scale when you attached
the prop, detach, set everything to 100, re-attach, then put the scales back to
whatever they were.
