I'm wanting to make a ghost. Is there any to make an entire figure transparent? I tried using the material room, but when I did that you can not only see the body through the clothes, but also can see the eyeballs and teeth through the skin, even though I made them transparent too. Is there another way to do it? I'd rather not have to fudge it in psp.

Yu could just go into the Material Room; set one part of a figure's Diffuse Color to white(Without any Textures,) then that parts Transparency to about 80-90%, and then use the Apply to All feature, near where you create a new node from, in the top right of the Node Palette.  You'll probably need to set internal parts, like Teeth, Tongue etc to %100 transparent.

An other option is to just render as usual, and then alter the Opacity of your figure in a 2D Image Editor, like Photoshop.

if modern conceptions of ghosts are related to "manifestations" in the 19th century by parlour charlatans, or by cinema depictions in the 20th century, then the easy way to do it is to map a render (or movie) of the character onto a 2d-prop, then vary the transparency of the prop in the poser scene. however, I would encourage one to purchase those items mentioned above.

I've got a set of textures I made for the PlanIt 3D Christmas give-away.  You might find a couple of them would work for you.

You can get them here

Here's a render of the first in the series....

They're all P6 procedural textures, so the whole package of 12 textures only weighs in at 145 KB zipped.
