Poser will import some Lightwave meshes. Does anyone know for sure what the version-number limit is? And I've found some nice tank models, but they seem to be a set of component meshes, which Poser will import, with a file detailing where the components are used. A hundred or so track links from the same mesh data is OK, but getting that into Poser is heavy work.

I believe it is limited to version 5.

Although it does not read Lightwave scenes (LWS) you can try PoseRay for newer LWO meshes. It uses the current object file format specification from Newtek.

good luck,

If you have deep exploration, it can open LWO's and LWS's up to version 8 and convert them to obj or 3ds
