Subject: Is RIB output from P 7 broken ?

FrankT ( ) posted Sat, 31 March 2007 at 2:06 PM · edited Sun, 21 July 2024 at 1:09 AM

I've exported a scene from Poser as a RIB file and the render engine is having a hell of a job with it - keeps saying there's a problem with the textures in one of the shaders.  Poser is also putting [ ] brackets in where it shouldn't by the looks of things.

Does this export actually work ? is it worth me fiddling around with the RIB file or should I stick to Firefly/POV-Ray ?

Yours in confusion

Frank

For P6, I have no known issues with RIB export. Theoretically there shouldn't be a problem with textures since textures / shaders would need to be applied with some sort of RAT (compliant) tool.

From what I have managed to figure out so far, the export has broken the pathnames to every single texture in the file by removing some or all of the backslashes - and not the same ones each time either

sigh
