Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 07 11:07 am)
Apart from the Tailor, you have Morph Magic at DAZ, Wardrobe Wizard or Netherworks' Clothing Morphkits. All have their advantages and disadvantages, and I'm currently trying to do a comparison of the four methods in what little spare time I have. ;) In brief, The Tailor generally does the job, but it won't load some items; you should report your problem to CodeTwister so he can fix it. Morph Magic also seems to do the job, although it wouldn't make Full Body Morphs for me; but that might be because I'm new at using it and missed something. Wardrobe Wizard is expensive and doesn't support absolutely every figure; but of course it offers a whole lot more than just adding figure morphs. The Clothing Morphkits are good, but don't support every morph you might want to use, and you have to buy a new set for each figure. None of the automated methods are going to give perfect results, and you may need to follow up with manual tweaking, depending on how picky you are and what it is you're adding the morphs to. If you don't want to spend (more) money, then Poser's magnets and / or an external modeller will be needed; tedious but free. Poser 7 has better morphing capabilities which might make it easier to use for this, but I don't have it so can't comment.
The primary advantages of the magnet based MorphKit are quality of the morphs and "tweakability" of the morphs. The Tailor does the job and does it fast, but you have very little control over the morph generation, and the resulting morphs often look jaggy, especially when the morphing is more pronounced.
Magnets make for smooth deformations. And the Clothing MorphKits do their work in two phases - first load the magnet set for a specific morph, then run a Python script to generate the morph. So before running the Python script you have the option to tweak and twiddle and even add your own magnets if needed.
Not all morphs are supported, but the majority are. I usually do the few missing morphs by hand, using magnets.
Since I'm more interested in high quality morphs than in a quick automated procedure, my personal preference goes to the magnet based solutions.
I haven't tried Wardrobe Wizard yet. From what I read it's a very capable utility, but I do not know how well the morphs turn out. But I have used the Cloth Room for generating morphs, with varying results, most of them not very good.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

I was wondering if there was any way to add figure morphs to clothing aside from programs like Mat Pose Edit, or The Tailor. I'm trying to add V3 Morphs into a clothing prop with no morphs and MPE won't load morphs despite it's claim to do so and the Tailore 1.6 errors saying no recognizable morphs found! I was hoping Poser 7 had something that would do the trick or if there was a way I could do it. Thanks for any help.
