Uh, there was other thread which referred to this:

Might be a solution, even if it's not what you asked.
I'll check Indigo after I can get those renderers I already have working (Yafray works, Sunflow kind of works, Virtualight and Kerkythea... well...).
Okay, I should have posted this before, but I'm running v.2.43. When I start the program, the command prompt reads that, "Checking for installed Python... No installed Python. Only built-in modules are available. Some scripts may not run."
No doubt this is what's causing the error.

Ok, Indigo does work. I just have trouble exporting. And let's see here...I have Final Export 1.2 for Indigo 0.7. This exports to .igs format, instead of .xml. I don't know if this is a problem, but that's the only format I can export to.
The manual also says that I need a .3ds file. That's where I really run into headaches. Hopefully, I'll upgrade to v. 2.44 soon, even though it seems like I just got v. 2.43

LOL, I just installed Blendigo and pushed render button! No playing with .igs (or .3ds) necessary, but you need to play with render values, which is more interesting...
If you absolutely need to convert something to .3ds for some reason, and Blender's support is not suitable, export .obj and convert with some other free tool (Wings3D, anim8or, ...).
DramaKing, I think .obj exporter worked without Python installed, so your installation may need some overhaul.
And yes, Indigo is full renderer (you have seen the website, yes?)

There is example gallery, see for yourself. I'd say commercial quality renders.
The "No python installed...." message just means that some scripts you might download will have problems, but it does have a built in interpreter that's good enough for all the scripts that come with the program. That means all your import/export scripts should work just fine unless you've gone and installed something from somewhere else over the default one. I just tried it, and I can export .3ds just fine without python. You might have to reinstall blender, or maybe just unzip it and copy the script folder over the old one.
Sorry, guys, I can't repeat your error. I exported quite complex object to .3ds and imported it to another application. All went smoothly. I have 2.44 with Python 2.5.
I'm using Windows XP. I don't know if that is important.
Yes, I have installed a lot of stuff, but nothing comes to mind which might make my installation different.
Btw, DramaKing, can you render from Blendigo? Or, if you have the other alternative, can you export and render that .igs?
Okay, I just installed the Python interpreter and library. Blender recognizes the install, and the error is gone. However, my .3ds files still do not contain any mesh data. It is absolutely the weirdest thing.
In regard to D.R.'s question, I can export to Indigo using Indigo Export 1.21. www2.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php
However, that only contains the render information. The .3ds file is still needed.

By some miracle, I just met with success. Instead of using a .blend file, I imported a .3ds file that I made in a different program. After that, everything worked perfectly. The .3ds file exported back out just fine, and I exported the .igs file with all the scene info in it. If anyone can tell me why this is happening, I would greatly appreciate it.
Oh, and I've got Indigo running right now. Let you all know how it turns out.

Congrats, DramaKing! Nice to know that after all your work you succeeded.
One thing came to my mind -- I have not gone through the file formats, but maybe your .3ds contained some material info which Indigo then recognized and rendered? If your original .igs actually contained mesh, but it was invisible because some alpha or some other issue?
...then again, maybe I need to investigate Indigo better. Well, I need suitable scene and that (modeling) takes time.
Anyway, let us see what you achieved, ok? :)
From .blend:
3ds export time 0.02
Rad elems: 952 emittors 0
From .3ds
3ds export time 0.78
And here is the Indigo render; however, the materials rather failed to come out as you can plainly see.

I'm a little closer to figuring out the problem. I at least have a temporary solution. I went down to the local public library, got on one of their computers, and downloaded v. 2.43 onto flash memory. Then the export functions worked just fine.
Now I just have to fuigure what on the stupid computer at home is messing everything up.

Recently, I have tried exporting a .3ds file from Blender for use with Indigo. However, the mesh data will not export. I don't get an export error, but I get a 22 byte file without any meshes. I have tried .lwo format as well, but with equal success. I would appreciate any help at all with regard to this.
