Subject: Standalone Render kicks in on it's own. ..HELP

Tubbritt ( ) posted Fri, 25 May 2007 at 4:26 PM · edited Sat, 17 August 2024 at 1:01 AM

Hi Guys.

All of a sudden when I select the Edit option in HyperView in order to load my nodes, Vue will automatically start the standalone rendering process without my consent.

Any idea's why ?.
I've tried rebooting, and I've not changed a single setting either.

Kind Regards.
James.

Hello.

Thanks for your reply. There was a job sitting in there, and clearing it out has stopped the Standalone mode from kicking in automatically.

However, Vue is still starting to render images without my consent. As soon as I hit the EDIT button to load my nodes, it shuts down the window and starts to render my image. No jobs where scheduled.

If I abort, it will somehow place 4 projects to be rendered into the schedule all on it's own (same project 4 times).

Do you think at this stage it's just better to reinstall the software ?. I has behaved up until tonight.

Kind Regards.
James.

it's been a while since I used hyperview 'cos it kept crashing on my install - try aborting the job then deleting it from the hyperview manager.  That might do the trick

Hello.

I tried to do what you suggested, but Vue would not allow me. The second I abort something, it creates 4 more. Tring to unload the nodes didn't help either as Vue would just rescan for them on it's own faster than I could shut them down.

Anyway... some good news. This is such strange behaviour, I decided to reinstall vue. It's working perfect again. I have an idea of what I did at this point to cause all this so I'll file a bug report with e-on.

Thanks a million for all your help.

Kind Regards.

It is because you are using a preset render setting, or options in our user render settings that are not possible to render with Hypervue, like hybrid dof or hybrid motion blur. Vue switches aytomatically to the standalone renderer in this case. I think a warning would be nice before this happens.

No, I'm using a custom setting, but I'm also turning off the dof and motion blur. The problem is if I set the resolution to anything higher than 3000 X whatever X 300 DPI, I then have to reinstall the software to clear out whatever sort of glitch this is causing. Shutting down, rebooting and clearing out any scheduled jobs does not help. Only reinstalling the software frees up the system again.

I've just verified this this morning by painfully having to reinstall 4 times in order to see if I could recreate the problem.

James.

What are your render settings? I mean exactly?

Tubbritt ( ) posted Sat, 26 May 2007 at 2:36 PM

My settings are as follows.

And.....

I see, it is because you have "optimize last render pass" on. Untick the box, and Hypervue will kick in. It is one of the effects that can't be rendered through Hypevue.

Bruno, what amazing insight you have. Good call.

Hi Bruno.

Very sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks a million for all your help. I'll just set my PCs to render an iamge higher than 3000 to see if that works now then using the new settings.

Kind Regards.

James.
