Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
I'll offer a few guesses here...
Is the remapped OBJ definitely in the proper folder(and runtime) that the cr2 points to?
Normally poser will ask you to locate the OBJ file manually if it can't find it but, I have occasionally run into this problem whenever I resave an altered figure into a different runtime.
Is the OBJ's xyz cords all set to zero? Sometimes, when I import 3ds models they appear invisible because they are actually way out of the camera's viewing range. Try using different cameras to see if your model is in fact invisible.
Are the normals Inverted? This delves into areas that I'm not to clear on, so I colud be way off base here.
These guesses are probably redundant for someone that can hack cr2's but, sometimes the obvious can make you oblivious . Afterall, the first question out of any tech support call is usually "Is the computer plugged in?". It's surprising how often this question will ACTUALLY fix the problem .
Good luck!

...and when the day is dawning...I have to say goodbye...a last look back into...your broken eyes.
Hmm... if the body parts and materials are listed, that tosses out
the typical group name problems.
How about scaling? When you remapped, did you take it into
a modeler, so that the scale is now too large or too small to see?
Did the OBJ get saved with the facets included? (Does it
have a list of 'f' lines below the 'v' and 'vt' lines?)

Yeah, BeyondVR is right. You can have parameter dials for your
body parts but if the group names are wrong they won't show up.
Look at the 'g' lines. Did the modeler add something to them,
like a figure name or some other word?

AHA! Thank you all for responding. And right on BeyondVR!The 'g' lines are missing, as well as the material names.
It's not the program's fault. (UVLayout - a really cool one see attached link). This particular model (Yes, I am going to rat you out CHAD!) the Zygote Heroine had some polys that were not agreeable to the program and they were auto-adjusted so the program could digest it.
She was apparently Posette with her lower legs (knees to feet) replaced with permanent boots (And she's actually taller than a stock Victoria 3!) I was also going to post a link to the character, but apparently Daz has ahem retired some of the models from back in the day. (She was only SEVEN years old for Pete's Sake!)
I wanted to fix the UV mapping for the boots and her head.
I'll post what the old mapping was and what I wanted.

I have an old mesh and partially rermapped it.
I know that you save the remapped .OBJ and can (in some instances-not this one!) change 2 lines in the .CR2 to point to the new remapped .OBJ.
Now my dilemma. It loads into Poser (7) invisible.
The Hierarchy editor sees it. (All of the eyes are open.)
The body parts appear in the Parameters/Properties pallette.
The material room has the list body parts as well.
I just cannot see the model.
I know that I am forgetting something (duh!) and just need a pointer to the right place.....
PS I am slogging through the old messages, but if you can chime in.....
