Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 10 6:07 am)
I thought I was dead 'til I found out it was just that I was in Nebraska. Or to put it another way, not getting ebots. :D This is the old "making the clothes fit after morphing the figure" question which comes up about once a week at a guess. Here's the quick version since I don't have time for the full rundown right now: - If the clothes have matching morphs built in, use them... - Convert the clothing into dynamic, then use the cloth room to shrink or stretch to fit; - Use The Tailor (from DAZ) to transfer the morphs from the figure to the clothing; - Use Wardrobe Wizard from PhilC (ditto); - Use Morph Magic, also from DAZ (ditto); - Use Cage's morph script; - Use the magnets to make the clothing fit; or you can buy pre-defined magnet sets at Netherworks; - As above, but using a modelling application. Sorry, gotta run...
Making matching morphs with the cloth room is actually pretty easy in most cases.
Alternate for step 9, (Pure Poser Method)
9a) In Poser go back to Pose room.
9b) At last frame use group tool to "Spawn Props" from cloth prop
9c) export each spawned prop as OBJ (Uncheck All) One prop at a time!
9d) Load the Clothing CR2
9e) Load Morph target for each effected body part and select the OBJ you experted for that part in step 9c
Now do you wanna get fancy? Sometimes you can add bits of the clothing item back to the dynamic group in the cloth room this can give you better results and simulate stretching and wrinkles more realistically.
If you have problems with things like snaps and buckles getting distorted add them to the rigid decorated group.
This technique with a little practice can produce really good results. Because you can add dynamic areas, you can get better results than the morph matching utilities can produce.

Sorry, my brain is dead this morning - can someone point me to the thread, tutorial or manual for doing this? I know I've seen it somewhere - a PBM file?? a Python script?? editing the .cr2 files?? - but can't find it
