Subject: Can I turn off smoothing for imports in daz studio?

Hi

I’m trying to import a building model I've made in another programme.

In that programme all the edges are straight and the angles sharp. When I import  it as an  obj  file  into Daz studio it seems to automatically smooth the edges out and spoil the mesh. I wondered if this can be turned off.  I've looked for an option but can't seem to find one.  If not I was wondering how people keep their models from doing this as I can load models made for poser that don’t get this effect

Any advice is much appreciated 😄

You need to either add small bevels to the corners you want to stay sharp or to split the mesh there, so that the ploygons don't share a common edge (but that will result in tearing if you apply displacement so bevelling is better).
