Overall 1.7 renders quickly. I haven't done a speed test alone but this is the first full scene I rendered with it -

1 hour and 16 minutes including shadow map calculation and the original render was 2200 wide. Not too shabby, I've had much simpler scenes in 1.5 take considerably longer.

Most of the stuff in my gallery took an hour+ to render using raytrace if there are reflections. Gas Riot on410th took far longer because of the displacement map used on the catsuit. On average I notice that adding displacement maps adds 10-20% to the render time, and adding scripted lights, or pw effects can double the render time at least. The Couple took 3-4 hours because of the skin shader on M3, and the reflections.
