Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with it. :( But I have to say that my few encounters with their tech support was fairly satisfying. You are correct though, about the output to video being somewhat vague, and I've seen other similar complaints. Maybe you ought to consider World Builder 3 or LightWave for more professional results. I've seen some terrific .AVI Vue movies, and I think yhat's what they really planned Mover mostly for--- for use on the WWW. As for reurning it, well, I think most, if not all, software companies would balk at that idea. Even a music CD is fairly difficult to return for anything other than store credit.
I would not care about returning the software if it performed to it's claims. But don't offer D1 aspects and field interlacing if the end result is not useable, that is like the old bait and switch routine. This sofware is useless to me without these features producing results that I can use. And that I say warrants a return.
Im sorry to hear you are having problems with the animation rendering. Ive personally met two people using Vue for TV commercials so I know it is getting real world use in televised animation. These people elected to use Vue over Lightwave and Max for their projects because the projects were relatively short and there were productivity gains in doing so (and of course, they liked the output). I dont have access to Tech Support logs, but I recommend that you post your question here. It could be someone already has the answers to your questions. Tech support doesnt handle returns. I recommend that you check out your license agreement in regard to your options on returns, if you bought it directly from e-on. My understanding is that either Vue doesnt have the features you require for your project, or you arent able to get Vue to produce the results you want. This program does great still images, but has a long way to go to be considered for professional use. There is basically no tech support for real questions such as rendering for output to video. After contacting tech support multiple times, they still gave me no real answers as to why animated vue scenes look like crap on video even when rendered with the ULTRA setting. When I wanted to return the software, tech support would not return my emails any longer and still have not to this day.
