Subject: Mixed materials and shadows

Does anyone know if the materials from a mixed material will cast shadows on each other ?

Imagine a brick wall with a plaster coating which has come off in patches.  Will the plaster cast shadows on the bricks ?

Regards

Frank

If you use bumps, then you won't get a shadow, but it still should look correct.

If you use displacement, then you should get a real shadow.

rats - I was hoping not to have to use displacements, they play havoc with this computer for some reason.  I'll give it a go though - thanks for the info
