Sorry for my english, i'm french, but is there a thing that nobody can explain ... Perhaps yes ... Render a scene in poser as you know it's impossible ...

I have an Athlon64 3000 1 Go of Ram since one year ago, and the most time i cant finish my render because Poser is a big sh... for the render ... Why ???

All people know is there many renderer for this, but D.. always contribute to make many props or characters who can't be used in other 3D progs ...

Poser is certainly the best in the manipulation of characters, why don't let the render at other softwares ???

In Blender or Bryce or max i render a complexe scene with many reflexions and refractions in a little time, between 2 and five minutes, in Poser for render the same scene i make between 20 or 40 minutes !!!

If the renderer is poor for sell an other software it is a real gain !!! But i thing many people don't thing like this ... Especialy due of the price of the softwares !!!!!!

just to agree, FFRender is not very good compared to max or maya, but the props and characters that D.. is making can be used in Carrara 6 as well.

I think if you want to stick with Poser for rendering you're going to have to make images by using multi-pass. Render each object, then the shadows, and stitch it together in Photoshop. I've had to do that before. That was my last straw with Firefly.

Oh gosh.  My opinion for and from using poser. Prob will get flamed for this.

Poser is a 3D character design program. A 3D character utility program for other 3D aps or it can itself without much of a scene, and characters. After using Bryce (6.1), and D|S, I found those can hold more than Poser can. Also render faster, better than poser can.  In poser, I was not able to put in scenes to compensate from using backgrounds without memory errors. Even the BSOD (self reboot) in WinXP.

I thought Vue could render Poser PZ3 scenes ?  I know Shade can do it as well.  I have tried using PovRender - it's OK too.

I don't know if it is the rendering quality or the rendering time that is the sticky issue with Poser.  Has something to do with the lighting set-up I think.  I love the way renders turn out in Vue and Shade.

vue's been able to do Poser scenes since at least Version 4. I think Cinema 4d can, with the right plugin, as well.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

My big complaint about rendering in Poser 7 is the saw-tooth edges it wants to put on the figures now. I dont  rember that happening with P6. I have Max and the V-ray render but I just dont like to take the time to import Poser scenes into it.

the experts may have a solution to the saw-tooth problem, if ya post a screen shot of yer render/material settings.
