No problem. Use the crop tool or the rectangle selection tool but at the top of the screen select from the options drop down "style" and then Fixed Ratio. Change the width and height to 10 and 8!!Neil
click the clear button to remove any previous values entered...
make srue you indicate you want the values to be INCHES (in) not PIXELS (px)
*(though i think it's inches by default...)
*outside of that, if it's still "wonkey", toss your PREF file and let PS rebuild a fresh one @ the next launch.

I used to know how to do this but I haven't used it in so long I have forgotten. Can anyone tell me how to crop a specific size out of an original? ei A 12x 12in original, how do I crop out an exact 8x10 chunk?
