Subject: Parenting Hands Question

I have a character already parented to anoither (a figure's body to the body of a ship) so when the ship moves the figures stays with it.  Can I also parent one or, preferably both, hands to the steering wheel of the ship (with IK on both hands) so that when I turn the whell the figure's hands stay on it and move too?
