Depends on which animal you want to base this on. If on insects which are i think the most common 6 leg creatures then they usually follow a tripedal gait. The middle leg of one side and the front/back legs of the other side move first. Then the opposite middle/front/back. This way they always have a stable triangle as a base.

Hmm, looks kind of bouncy to me. Maybe front two legs up like feelers and the other four bounding along, rabbit like?

all the feet describe the same sinusoidal pattern when viewed from the side. if the multi-legged creature is moving in z-direction, then IK on for feet, and use the poser bezier curve graph for each foot.

Neat site, ockham!

I make it walk, is very funny!
I manged to animate with only two master dials, one for moving the legs and the other for legs up-down. One needs a sinus and the other a cosinus.
If I find a way to create a cosinus from a sinus then only I shall need one master dial, much better,... turn z-trans into a sinus and cosinus.....
