Subject: OT - okay, for all you relationship people out there.....

I'm in quest of stories of people in relationships. Doesnt have to be anything big or dramatic. It could be as simple as "we went grocery shopping yesterday and got a deal on lettuce" or "Man, does she ever snore. It got so bad one night that....." Give me some fun anecdotes, some not so fun ones, all the big things and the minutae that describes your relationship with your significant other/life partner/husband/wife. Let's see if love does indeed make the world go round.....

My missus is stuck in hospital right now. Not that fun to describe (next on Fox - "when surgery goes wild!" seems to be the best description for it), but due to respect for her dignity and privacy, I'm afraid I'll be keeping most of it mum until I can secure her permission. I think that'll be you biggest obstacle - the fact that there are two people involved, and both have to be okay with it. I'll ask her and see what she says (they got WiFi here). /P

Well, I can't tell you anything from recently about my relationship with my husband. He died back in 1982, but I can give you a story or two of when he was still by my side. My husband was a gentleman at all times, publicly or privately. Whenever we were going out somewhere, he held my coat for me put on. I knew to wait at the door until he opend it, to wait at the car door until he opened it and to not close it myself. On shopping nights he wouldn't let me cook supper, we ate out at good restaurants. He spoiled me as much as he could. And I loved it so much that I made sure he knew how much it meant to me. He never came home to a cold supper (and he worked 10 t0 12 hours a day) or to find me in a housecoat or curlers. I'd wear his favorite dress and high heels two to three times a week just for him, and he never knew which nights that would be, he loved it. And he never failed to tell me every night that he loved me. To me that is how a realationship should be, two people caring so much for each other that they enjoy pleasing the other.

Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)

Back when we were first engaged, and living several hours apart, we used to talk on the phone every day. (We still do when one of us has to travel.) When we ran out of things to say, but didn't want to hang up, we used a pair of noise-producing plus dinosaurs to communicate.)

Relationship? What's that? I haven' t had one of those in so long I've forgotten what they are. And that's not by choice either.

one thing I learnt from the chat rooms - never talk about stuff like that, or any other self-referential info

I'd ask my honey for permission, but he's snoring on the couch, dog keeping his feet warm, and the kitties sprawled next to hi pillow think he's purring.
The teenagers are upstairs, asleep too - or keeping awfully quiet!
It's only 9pm and I'm the only one awake in the house.
Poser Time!
Wooo hoo!

My husband did not want me to adopt another cat (We had three). I brought the kitten home (her name is Dolly) Now she is his favorite cat!

My ball-jointed bishounen doll wanted a companion so I went to Tokyo to get him another bishounen doll to keep him company ( well, I had other things to do there anyway !).  Their couplehood is as real to me as any human relationship.

I trapped and caught some wild kittens and brought them home. I set them in the laundry room in a tall contianer that they couldn't jump out of and while I was away doing something my wife went in and saw the kittens and thought how cute and reached in to pick one up. That one got named Chompers. Another one got named Hiss. Still have them. Nobody else can touch them.
