Subject: Help Please - DAZ studio Beginner

stawberynvanila ( ) posted Thu, 17 January 2008 at 9:10 AM · edited Thu, 13 February 2025 at 6:06 AM

Hi, everyone,  I'm new to 3d and i have a difficult time trying to figure out what is what. I've been following a few beginner tuts but most doesn't explain what are the difference between meshes or  textures and how to use them, for example. Most assume that the reader have a basic knowledge of 3d. I have no basics in 3d. The only programme i've used is Photoshop.

If anyone can kindly point me to the tuts ( that you found helpful to you) or any site for beginners i would be very much obliged.

Thank you.  :)

Well to start with the mesh is the basically the surface of the
wire frame figure that you are applying the texture to.

There are tutorials that will explain this in more detail.

Sorry I do not know were theye are  I would google it.

Thank you very much for your reply. Now i have an idea of what the mesh is. I've been googling it, but the ones i got are about which meshes are available and so on. I'll try more tuts. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

You can find much of what yu want in the Daz Studio help manual that came with the program.  If you didn't download it from Daz you should get it.

Thank you very much for your help, Lighthorse and AnnieD.

Lighthorse, that site was really good with lots to learn.

AnnieD, i forgot to download the manual in my excitement to try the Daz Studio. I've downloaded it. Wow, that was a lot of into to sift through. I've skimmed through it, it explained everything. Will start trying it with the studio.

Thank you again to both you  for your kind help. Much obliged. : )

Welcome to the madhouse strawberrynvanilla.

Try the tutorials here, if you get stuck either ask the creator or post a thread here in the forums showing your problem....it is advisable to see if there is something in the manual first though, and less embarrassing believe me I know...jumping in feet first....been there, done that!
