Subject: pz3 with animation don't work properly in DAZ?

TheOwl ( ) posted Sat, 19 April 2008 at 3:50 PM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 8:07 PM

WIth Poser, I used a walk designer to animate David to run on place, it looks good so I saved it as a pz3 and imported the scene into Daz.

While Daz opens the scene, it asks me of obj's of the cr2 clothes which I pointed to its location (maybe not related to the problem which I can fix later) and it continued loading. I turned on the limits when asked and when it finally finished loading, the animation still makes him run but he's "jiggy" sometimes turning his head in different directions and limbs flying like he's being beat up by some invisible enemy while running. I even tried to create a movie file in daz for 3 seconds it rendered with 120 images BUT all are the same image! I am using Daz 2.1 the latest for now.

What's going on? Daz can't read poser animation correctly? Can this be fixed?

With your current DAZ software, are you experiencing problems in importing pz3 scenes with animation or its just me?

Help please I am almost done in my project! And thanks for your time.

I don't use Daz|Studio, but I know it has limitations as to what it can do vs. Poser.  I don't think Daz|Studio can manage animations. So you'll probably have to use Poser or some other program that can do animations.

Thank you very much.

I guess I will be forced to save pz2 files in Poser then and have them animated in puppeteer in DAZ.

Quote - Daz Studio has a basic timeline for animations. It should load a single layer Poser animation , it may not understand a Poser 7 multi layer animation though.

I rendered out a walk test scene that I had done and it looks ok. You need to change the render settings to movie and supply an output file name .

Having limits set may affect how it looks , I would try with limits off .

MY FRIEND!

I would kiss your feet now.

I redid and saved the walk animation into the base layer and it worked! No more wiggly and weird stuff! Yay!

Thanks to markschum!
