Subject: Poser 7 cloth room bug , ? constrained vertices .

hi all,

I have been trying to use the cloth room to fit a prop eyepatch to v3.

With v3 rotated to be horizontal, face up, and the hi-res square scaled to 5% I run the cloth simulation and the square slides off the face , that was expected .

The selecting a few vertices at each corner of the cloth prop to the constrained group, and run the simulation again , the constrained vertices DO NOT MOVE AT ALL.   My understanding from Poser 5 is that they stop moving when in collision with the figures polygon , and not the bounding box .

Is thos a bug in Poser 7 or do I need to reload it ?

I used the cloth square because I know it works , and wanted to be sure it wasnt my prop geomatery that was messing up the simulation .

thanks

I wouldn't have expected constrained vertices to move at all. My understanding is that they stay in the same relationship to the nearest colliding geometry, although I'm not sure exactly what the conditions are. If the geometry doesn't move, the vertices won't move either. Maybe a choreographed group would be more useful?

yes Bob , but my understanding was that they became static after meeting the collision depth and offset of the cloth with the collision object.  I could well be wrong though.

Choreographed only moves when you move it , so thats no good . I am trying the friction settings to stop the cloth sliding , but thats not allowing the cloth to flatten properly either .

I will reload Poser 5 and do a test .
