Subject: Saving object preview in V6 Infinite

Cosme..D..Churruca ( ) posted Wed, 01 October 2008 at 1:03 PM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 8:21 PM

Hi everyblody... someone knows if is possible to enlarge the objects in the window? Sometimes the object is perfect and visible... but  in most cases the object is distant and quite difficult to identify. Any tips? Thanks in advance.

There's several commands you can use when saving an object.
Right click and drag - rotates the image
Ctrl + Right click + Drag - zooms in or out.
Left click + drag - pans the view

Aha! ctrl L click for the zoom. That isn't anywhere in the documentation I could find. I've been looking for the answer to this same question for a while. Thanks so much Rutra.

I'm glad this was useful to you. :-)
timspfd, that's ctrl + right click for the zoom, not ctrl + left click, as you wrote.

Also, for somethings , like say an indoor room, such as a Poser library or dinner room or whatever, since it's a closed room, the light sucks in the save object preivew, if you save the object all you get is mostly darkness for a preview :(

So, in Infinite, render out a 200x200 image, appropriately lit, then use THAT as the preview image Dunno what other versions have that feature.
When saving item:

**Preview --> Use Custom Image

Very useful tip.  Thx

If you want to save a preview of an indoor, another possibility is to uncheck the "use global illumination" and check "use local light". In this case, the preview uses whatever lights you placed inside the room to render the preview. Sometimes it's a bit hard to find the right POV but it's possible.
