Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 7:34 pm)
My thinking paths and working environment orbit around Vue. I use bits and pieces of other tools (Poser, SketchUp, Zbrush, Photoshop) as a complement to Vue.
I think it doesn't make much sense that Renderosity has a "gallery" for each tool. If someone spends 2 hour posing and dressing characters in Poser, 2 hours preparing the scene in Vue, 2 hours finishing it in Photoshop, in what "gallery" should this image be posted? I think it should be possible at least to assign an image to multiple "galleries".
I think it's down to the artist to choose where he/she should put the render, as Artur says, these days, there is rarely only one app involved in a render.
I choose to put a render in the gallery of the app that rendered it, not where the models were made, or the figures posed, becasue there isn't only the rendering involved, but also the materials are inherent to the rendering app, and the lighting, so there is alot more of the rendering program in the final output than the first tools you use.
I normally post in the gallery that corresponds to the render engine I use because that's where most of the "look" of the piece comes from (postwork notwithstanding) but that's just personal preference really - I use Poser, ZBrush, Hexagon and Photoshop in the workflow

I often render my Rhino work in Maxwell, 'cause it's so awesome, but, useless for most scenes. Great gor showing off models, and visually testing them.
Vue rules for funsceene creation, and psoer = tons of easy to use content :)

I post in Vue for rendering in Vue and post in others for modeling in others but still rendering in Vue.

Vue, although I am slowly building my own models more and more in Lightwave 9 and Carrara 6 Pro. But Vue has the finishing aspects I like, the atmospherics, terrains, easy to make my own materials and I don't mind a 2 day render or longer cause I have 3 machines.

Vue is becoming a collector of models I've made from other apps. It renders outdoor scenes rather quick (even indoor). Vue's "Render Art" button works a whole lot better than in other apps.

Welkom! ;)
I red in the gallery a comment that a lot of VUE artwork isn't showing up in the VUE gallery but instead in the poser gallery.
So i wondered, how many of you use VUE as a renderer for other programs?
I mean what is the weight of VUE in the proces?
For myself, i started it as a rendermachine for my Rhino3D (Excellent program!) scenes and models, but i have to admit that i now do most of my work totally in VUE and and use Rhino selden, or as a quick moddeler for props in my VUE scene.
What about you guys?
