Subject: Desired: Naija character and outfit from "Aquaria"

Hi,

I was wondering how nice would be to create a 3D Naija, the main character of the indie game "Aquaria".

It would require two different tasks:

The character itself: it means suitable morphs for the ears, hands and feet.
The outfit: as seen in the attached picture, plus the cape.

It would be wonderful!

This another image of Naija, with the cape shown.

Since it's a commercial product it's best to go to the source, contact the game's creators. If the game is model based rather than sprite based and allows modding the character mesh may already be available.

If it is sprite based the creators might be willing to share blueprint sketches of the character for creating a mesh....you never know they might really like the idea.

Either way you would still be in the position of finding an interested modeler to convert to or make the Poser model but your chances of success would go way up.

Best of  luck. 😄

(The reason for suggesting the creation of a new mesh rather than morphing an available model is so the game creators could use the model free of any legal entanglements.)

Thanks for the answer.

The game is sprite-based and the two authors actively encourage the creation of fan-art. I would like to re-create a V4-based character.

I can manage the skin and hair textures creation, and the face morph, but I have no idea about how to create her clothes, and the morphs for ears, hands and feet.

Hmmm........there may be ears and feet similar to those of the character in the V4 Creature morph pack that would work with a little adjusting. You can use the Dform tool in DAZ Studio to make the final adjustments and there are scripts for saving those changes available in the DAZ Studio Freepository under the scripts sticky thread.  The Dform tool is pretty easy to get the hang of and works well for creating morphs and fixing poke through issues from posing. Dyald over in the DAZ  forums uses it to create his characters and has a tutorial on using the tool that is informative. He is a great guy and won't mind answering any questions if you get stuck.

Possibility of greaves and bracers from existing armour models. There are cloaks scattered about the web that could be modified to use with this character. The body of the suit is pretty close to a corset so you might be able to use transmapping on an existing model to replicate it.

If none of that works out the clothes are pretty simple and I could put something together with a few more reference pictures. Are there any pictures showing a back view? Send me a PM or post here if you can't put this together from available resources and we'll take it from there.

Thank you lisarichie for your help!

Aquaria does not have a lot of "official" art, and the main character is always shown from the side (it's a 2D game). But there is some very good fanart showing the back of the costume. This one, for example....

I've done the preliminary modeling of the outfit and want you to look over it to determine any changes before I rig it and add the morphs.

I need a PM with your e-mail address so I can send you the model.
