Subject: what's the text map of a GROUND square

santicor ( ) posted Thu, 08 January 2009 at 11:31 AM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 6:12 PM

Hello there can anybody tell me what size image, if you are going to use it for the texture image, fits perfectly onto one Poser GROUND  square (at the GROUND square's default size)?

i have been trying 1500*1500, and the thin strips of hardwood floor of the image get stretched out to look like they are 12 inches wide when I render the floor.

I have tried shrinking the image down exponentially ( to create even thinner strips of wood) in the .jpg, and multiplying the image to make it fill out a 1500*1500 image size,  but to no avail.
still renders as huge wide strips of wood.

Huge wood is not always a bad thing,  but in the case of rendering a floor in Poser, it's not desirable.  ;-)

Thanks

If the image is designed to be tile-able, you can tell Poser to tile it.
Use the "U Scale" and "V Scale" numbers in the Materials Room.
With both U Scale and V Scale set to 0.5 you'll get two repetitions
in each direction.  With both scales at 0.25 you'll have four tiles
in each direction.

awesome !
Thanks  I am just getting now into adv render settings.
Thanks for speeding me along.
BTW  I am not on my Poser machine right now, I'm at work  >-(
Do you happen to recall what is the default comand that Poser is following if you do not set those values?
Is it a default number that it tiles to?  or is it sorta like  " do not tile at all"

Thanks again

Some examples for you. 😄

The default value for tiling is 1.000 for U & V_Scale, i.e., no tiling.
